About Us The opportunities in the Vocal Music Department include performing in large and small groups, audition experiences, dancing instruction, spring tours and performances in the school’s auditorium and the community.
The Vocal Music students sing in local and regional competitions, for civic and holiday events, on television and of course in concerts at the high school. In November of each year, the department partners with the Stage Crew, Instrumental Music Department and Audio Engineering to produce a musical. Over 200 high school students participate. Once we return to the new high school, our high school students will play the lead roles with middle school students dancing and singing in the chorus. Many of the students in A Cappella Choir and Heights Singers will participate in Spring Tour and travel to sing in historic churches and participate in Master classes to improve their skills. For our Spring Concert, we feature seniors who have gone through a rigorous audition process. All of the courses are described in the Program Planning Guide in the music section. |
